Frequently Asked Questions
Q: As a publisher, what does Cloverdale Corporation do for the author?
A: Please take a look at a sample contract to publish. This will answer many of your questions. If you still have a question, contact us with your specific question.
Q: What is the difference between Cloverdale Books and Quill Books?
A: Both are imprints of Cloverdale Corporation Publishing. The Cloverdale Books imprint is reserved for academic titles. The authors have at least a Ph.D. in the field and will be using the book in their University instruction. Books that are not necessarily intended for the University course instruction are published under the Quill Books imprint.
Q: How long has Cloverdale Corporation been in the publishing business?
A: Cloverdale Corporation has been publishing books since 1982.
Q: Why is the catalog so small?
A: Cloverdale Corporation took a brief hiatus from the publishing business at which point, the responsibility for many of the titles was turned over to another company (Wyndham Hall Press). We are now moving forward in this tradition as a publisher of high quality manuscripts
Q: I'm a scientist. Does Cloverdale publish science books?
A: Absolutely! While the current catalog is predominantly non-science titles, in 2006 we began a push for science titles with the announcement of the Aldo Leopold Series on Environmental Sustainability - twelve titles to be published in 2007. Other science titles will certainly be considered outside of this Series.
Q: What is the quality of Cloverdale's books?
A: Cloverdale uses a high quality printer. We would be happy to send you a sample copy so that you can see the quality. Also, as part of Cloverdale's commitment to the environment, we print all of our books on partially recycled paper.
