Book Description

This monograph contains essays from students and alumni of Viterbo University’s Master of Arts in Servant Leadership program who are trying to live their lives as authentic leaders. Each essay reveals their struggle to become authentic in order to find their sense of purpose as a leader, as well as be present to those whom they serve. Each essay contains questions for the reader to reflect on for their own journey towards becoming authentic.

In 2001 Viterbo University started a Master of Arts in Servant Leadership program. The only master’s program in the world specifically focusing on servant leadership, the aim of the program is to provide an opportunity for individuals to deepen and develop their vocation to engage in competent, creative, Christian leadership that works for the common good. With more than 70 students currently enrolled and over 65 graduates, the program is attempting to live out the call of Robert Greenleaf, who first articulated the principles of Servant Leadership, to build a better, more caring society by cultivating a genuine desire to serve among today’s leaders.
